Theres just a few, some of them seem off. They both look like GREAT cards... I can't wait to get my hands on one... dope.png

Does ATI's card offload all video processing to the GPU, e.g, MPEG-2/4 encoding, MPEG-4 and WMV9 decoding, DIVX, SVCD, HDTV etc because the Nvidia card does.

That feature alone is worth getting the Nvidia for, HDTV fully accelerated by the GPU not the CPU anymore, infact all video hardware accelerated by the Nvidia GPU.

hmmmm can't say as I have much use for HDTV yet as it is NOT standard and there are maybe 2 channels here that broadcast in it and they both suck....

I buy technology as I need it

The All-in-Wonder version may when it is released/announced.

This is from the AIW 9800 Pro:
Output to HDTV ready devices with ALL-IN-WONDER®’s video output component adapter

But the latest Nivdia offloads ALL video to the GPU weather its WMV, XVID, DIVX, MPEG, etc the GPU takes it all away from the CPU.

I at last think GPU's have reached a speed limit where I can now say they are fast before there were just incremental upgrades and nothing that I would class as fast, but the latest ATI / Nvidia have made a huge jump from teh last generation.

I may have to invest in one.

That's it pick out the one bit you don't use icon_rolleyes.gif

I am mearly stating the the latest Nvidia card offloads all Video to the GPU which is a great thing.

Don't even both. Fanboys can't be persuaded, Jas. I'v tried before. lol, any way. Both very promising cards
LiLmoonee
actually the ATI x800 can encode and decode MPEG 1/2/4 and decode WMV9.

Weird thing is a bunch of the reviews show the Nvidia using more CPU cycles than the ATI .. weird since it supposedly offloads "all" Video to the GPU and ATI doesn't make the same claim.....

Woo-hoo!! I know a guy who ordered the x800Pro and x800XT Plat.

He said when he gets his x800XT he'll sell me his x800Pro for 200!

I know a kid who'll buy my 9800Pro for 140-150! That's a 50 dollar cost to upgrade my card to one of these pimp new babies, think I should do it guys? dope.png
bull
For $50, why not. You are a gainfully employed young man, go for it. thumbup1.gif

I beleive I will damnit. I'm not getting my hopes up too much on buying it off him though. But, if I do. Heck ya. I really wanted to get an GF6800U/NU, but for 50 dollars and a huge performance gain til' I can afford one, why the hell not? cocky.gif
