thats really good for stock cooling!!
I blew up my PIII 500!

I decided to see if i could overclock it, so i got a mate to overclock it, then i put the heat sink on we turned it on and one of the clips broke and the heastsink fell off!!

i was quite funny! The cpu didn't want to work after that!!!

I dont know how to overclock the CPU via software, and I dont have the tools to connect wires, and I dont wanna open up the case just to overclock it either. However... If anyone can tell me how to overclock a 800MHz Celeron to at least 1.5 GHz plz tell me.

sorry to burst ur bubble but there is no freaken way ur gonna get a celeron 800 to 1.5. it isnt gonna happen. 1ghz is more reasonable. i know we didnt get off to a good start (vid card fiasco) but PLEASE do some research. and sorry to say...software overclocking is NOT the way to do it....u could easily kill your operating system install. also if ur machine is a store (dell HP etc) bought one then there isnt any chance of overclocking.

Actually moonee. Stop falsely claming facts. It can be done. But is he going to have cascade -85C cooling to do it with? Probably not. It can be done, but probably not by him...

Easy way...
Spend $39 and put a 1.4 Ghz CPU in...
http://bizrate.compuvest.com/Description.j...sp?ItemID=44852If you board does not support Tualatin Cpu's $3.95 will get you an adapter off ebay...
Then just kick the 1.4 up to 1.5...

I O/C based on temp. I run my XP3000 at about 2.22 on a day to day bases. I like it to stay 40c or cooler. Too high on bus setting and it messes with my PCI and AGP bus, and mobo does not have ratio setting to let me even it out. I use a copper Swiftech H/S with an 80mm Vantec Torando on a reo. I allso have a Sunon 3500 rpm 80mm fan blowing direct on vid card (on reo). Even with all this cooling I doubt I would be inclined to push it anymore than I do. Too much an investment and I couldnt afford to replace parts.

Yep. That's a very average O/C nowadays with those CPU's, I really want one... but it'd be a total waste in my A7N8X Deluxe... If I buy one of those and an NF7/NF7-S I'd be smokin...

New record for me:
Intel Celeron 2.3 GHz @ 2.8781 GHz & Stable I'm proud of this one

Stock fans too, cept I got a blue LED 80mm fan I bought along with the GeForce 6600GT.
Runs at a nice, cool 37C idle, and 45C full load.
EDIT: To LiLmoonee, this is a Gateway PC :P
UPDATE: This beast is running stable with sound at 3GHz. Wont go any higher... so question is... is Goku, the guy who seems like the 4peeps guru of overclocking, impressed with a 700MHz increase on a Celeron?
I got sempron 2400 to 2800 running 2.0ghz
