Well here it is folks OS X running on my PC... Slooooow but what do ya want for an emulator that's 0.1 icon_biggrin.gif

Get your goodies here http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/

I used the 6 Gig image -> http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/pearpc/...pc-6gib.img.bz2

Darwin as the base -> http://www.opendarwin.org/downloads/7.0.1/...rwin-701.iso.gz

And borrowed OS X iso's (*Cough*) wheeeeeh.gif

Networking ONLY works under linux so the 4Peeps you see in Safari was loaded from a cache file...

Can't wait to see how far this will develop before Apple puts the kibosh to it...

If this turns out too good Apple will sell no hardware.

I may test out OSX on Windows using PearPC.

Yes the OS X installer will NOT create a proper image yet for you to use as a HD.

I unrared the 6gig img file, then booted up PearPC with Darwin as the CD and used it to prep the image as a HFS volume...

I understand you can also use Mandrake PPC instead of Darwin... (Darwin was a 400MB image that has NO extras... It's just bare bones BSD)

Then I edited the PearPC config file with OSX CD1 as the CD and unchecked quite a bit of stuff, so I didnt have to use CD2... don't know how to change CD's on the fly...

I basically just followed the instructions on the site...

As I read it you need Darwin first... But kick it up just after the partitioning and see what happens... icon_biggrin.gif

That's nifty, tell me how it is and if they finish it (where you don't gotta do all that other stuff first)

I may give er' a go later.

Ok cool Troll icon_biggrin.gif I herd it takes like 6 hours or so to install every thing and by what you say it might take longer...

It is an emulator so its never going to be as fast as the real thing... And I think its really hard to emulate the PowerPC archatecter...

Apple will never stop selling there hardware... thats where they make there money... Apple does have a ver of OSX for PC's but thats under lock and key... its a fall back incase there IMB (?) hardware goes away and they need to start and use PC hardware.
burntkat
why in the hell would you want to run OSX in emu on a PC?

Just pick any of a hundred distros of Linux, and be done with it.
