Is there any proggies i can use to OC my comp, ppl talk about FSB OC, and a program for raising the FSB, whats that all about and where can i get it?

Just look up overclocking software, i know there are hundreds of porgramns for video o/cing but not sure for CPU. Might have to chack with somebody else!!

Go
here for tweaking utilities. If you want to raise your FSB, then just go into your BIOS and do it there. Best way to o/c.

easyfsb is actually softfsb - me stupid.
its a great proggy- instant changes...
Can i risk frying my CPU by raising the FSB?

yes you can fry your cpu by raising your FSB. You can also kill your mobo by raising fsb. However the chances of killing your mobo is very small. It will get unstable and crash mosy likely first.
to OC there are 2 component, FSB and multiplier. For instance a 1333 mhz cpu would (stock) have a FSB of 133, and multiplier of 10 (133 x 10). You get the same result by either upping your multiplier (assumeing cpu is unlocked, intels cannot be unlocked) or upping the FSB (the only way to OC a pentium.
For example 133 x 10.5 = 1396, and 140 x 10 = 1400
AMD can take very high heats (compared to intel) many OC amd's will run at or around 50 C (unless high end coolers used). If your mobo does not have an active cooler (heat sink + fan) on the northbridge chip (one closest to the CPU), think about adding one as this will help you increase your FSB.
Well i have now raised my FSB so now its 112 x 37.3 ending up at 1120.8 Mhz.
My idle temp is around 33 and the load temp is around 45.
How much do you think i can raise it further?
The Mobo is a Abit KT7A-RAID, the cpu a AMD Athlon TB 1Ghz.
The cooler is a Taisol something, planning on changeing it though.

Don't you mean its 112 x 10 = 1120, is your ram 100 or 133 speed ?
Think youre right, you can see it here what i mean

You have an Abit motherboard, all this can be done via the bios as Abit uses softmenu 3.
This has a lot of overclocking options, look at your manaul if you have it, it will explain the features.

Jason -> I saw that, i could actually choose what speed i would run, upto 1400Mhz, but it didnt work, nothin happend :/
Pappy -> I saw that one to....wow...it would be easyer for me to understand russian...

You have to set speed error hold to disabled then alter to the fsb you want, may have to up the voltage a bit but try booting with out first.
Thanks Jason !
Im gonna try that...
I cannot seem to find "Speed error hold" anywhere in the Bios
Can u tell me where it is?

In the soft menu III, under CPU operating speed, you should have:
Multiplier Factor
CPU FSB/PCI Clock
CPU FSB Plus (MHz)
Speed Error Hold

If you don't disable this, when you overclock via the bios it will reset itself to default speeds.
Hmm, i OC'ed my comp up to 1120Mhz with Soft FSB, but after i reboot, it sets the FSB back, and im at 1000Mhz again, how come? how can i get it to stay up? :/

ok, i'll set you straight ms
with softFSB you are NOT overclocking your cpu or fsb, the program is old and does not support your motherboard. The 37.3 is in regard to the speed of your pci bus IF your fsb was running at 112mhz.
softmenu is the only way to go, though I dont reccomend you overclock until you have more knowledge on the subject as you are obviously lacking.
i've seen websites post tutorials for begginners before, i'll see if i can find one for you and post a link for you here, it will most likely give answers to many questions going in your mind

Does anyone know of such a program that will work with an old C333? The mother board doesn't support anything but 66 & 100 and I can't alter the voltage without a soldering iron and varnish, and the POS would never post at 100 FSB. It would be nice to pull a little more out of it...

I think it would depend on the motherboard/chipset you are using. Not the cpu. If there was a magical program like that I would sure like to have it
