Saw this link early this morning. Textbook stop, in my book. Damned glad these guys were on the job. This happened 10 minutes form where I live. Goes to show that most cops in T.O. aren't bad. Our local police force is under is lot of heat for drug scandals, bribe-taking and the like right now (Some of the accused cops are the children of one of our former police chiefs!). They could use some good press right now.

And, that was a nice "by the book" police car maneuver. Very impressive.

I am also thankful for the news crew to actually put in the audible of "Stop resisting" when they are trying to apprehend the suspect. Now you know he is resisting arrest and they aren't just beating on him for no good reason.

In the 27 years I lived in TO, I have never had anything but praise for "Metro's Finest" they should be given a little more free reign, all the negative publicity, most of that is total CRAP... "Ya bust Rufus for dealing on the schoolyard, and he's out in a week doing the same thing again..." No damn wonder they get frustrated...


Just think what would have happed to the Emergency peeps working the accident up the road if they didn't stop the car...

My SO is a paramedic, could you image the phone call if the SUV ran into the accident sceneand hurt or god forbid killed people.... (I'd be waiting the day he got outa Millhaven...)

Unfortunatly, all cops everywhere, get a bad rap, from the few highly publisized actions of a few.
This was an excellent example of the risk they put themselves in at anytime without warning, to Protect and Serve.
