How was it? What was it like? Was it your favourite?
I was at Jeff O'Neil's Big Weenie (Roast) on Monday. It was an outdoor concert organised by one of rock stations, and finger eleven headlined. Most of the bands there were the local ones that were recently in a contest. It was a good time

gob was there, too, and they were good as well.
Young crowd. My mosh pit days are long over though.

Been a while since I went to a gig, so it was either Kevin Bloody Wilson or ZZ Top, both last year. Both were excellent.
Baz and I will be catching Kev's next gig near us in the autumn.

Last concert I attended was one that our radio station hosted. I think it was Tracy Lawrence. My favorite of all times was Type O' Negative at Club Toast in Burlington VT. Great Show!!

NOFX gig at Brixton back in May.
Loud, fast and angry in yer face american punk. The venue was a bit big I think. 5000ish bodies filled the place, but punk gigs are never quite the same in a concert hall type place.
Good though, very tight as a live band. Considering they have about 20 albums/EP's worth of material, I still heard all the songs that I wanted hear, bar one, and they weren't the songs that I expected to hear either, so I would say the set list was excellent too.
Favourite gig? No, but a very good one all the same.
Only been to 4 gigs this year, only 1 more booked as well.
I'm getting old.

Hm. Last one I was at was Saliva...which I found loud and not very good. Which is unfortunately the case with most concerts I work.
Last one I paid to be at was The Who, which I found most excellent, especially given that it was less than a month after they lost John Entwistle in 2002. Not my favourite, but definitely worth the $$ (I not only paid for the ticket, I turned down working the show to go), and I'll do it again if they ever come through.

Next up - Van Halen, September 25th in Dallas.
Well, unless you count the San Angelo Symphony 4th of July Pops Concert this weekend.

Last was Def Leppard at the good ol' Peoria Civic Center. I kicked ass!! Dokken opened and while Don looked like an old man trying to be young, he still rocked.
I have seen Def Leppard on every tour since High and Dry and they have never disappointed me.

I saw Opeth on February 3rd at the Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS. Of the three concerts I've been to, this one was the best. There were two opening bands, but I don't remember their names. The first band wasn't very good, but the second was pretty cool, but not nearly as awesome as Opeth.

Emerson Drive was the opening act for Shania. They are pretty good. They actually performed here in Cullman at the high school a few months ago.

Incubus. Much to my surprise, it actually wasn't that bad. WAY too much bass, but then you'll have that.

ZZ top was the last music gig we went to, bloody good as well... must go to some more, pity there are no decent people touring the UK at the moment....

Hmmmmm.......I think it was the Mark Gardner Gig at King Tuts in Glasgow - there may have been one before that but my memory fails me! lol
Both T and I will be attending the Finn Brothers gig in October - should be good - not quite Crowded House but the nearest I'll ever get unless they reform sometime in the future!

Never heard of the band 'Cumshots' before, never likely to again.
But here's one gig that had a highlight for at least a couple of peeps....
Not exactly a Cliff Richard concert.....But probably quite entertaining.

Van Halen. As always, they put on a GREAT show, even if from a professional standpoint I felt they had way too much stuff. But that was mostly because I didn't feel like working that hard.

You know...I don't think they had one. Or if they did, it was before I got there. Seems like they were supposed to, though, and that it was someone I'd heard of. Damn it, I hate when that happens. Lemme ask around, see if anybody else remembers. Or if maybe at some point this hole in the middle of my head fills in with some information.

I quickly looked on their website and it doesn't say that they had anyone touring with them. If they had an opening act, might have been a local band. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

Cripes, you know; I started thinking about this and I honestly can't remember unless it was the cheese-o-rama freebie that my friend Mike and I went to in around 1980. It was Hall and Oates (violent retching sound) but the good news was it was Mike, myself and about 6 more fraternity brothers in box owned by Winnipeg Enterprises so we had great seats AND we were right between the Labbat's box and the Molson's box. I was the beer rep for the frat so you can imagine how I played those two organizations off against each other. We had 24s of beer stacked in the corner of the room and were handing them out thru the front sliding windows to the nice ladies in the crowd. We had fun.

Lots of fun.

Nope, it's gone, never to be retrieved from the bottomless pit known as "the place I send all show information after they leave town".

Oh well.
Today, through the "luck" of having him not show up until I was already there to load out, I saw Snoop Dogg. It was...about like you'd expect it to be. *sigh*

Dream Project, a prog rock cover band (Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, and some softer stuff too) - this was on my holiday in Rovinj, Croatia, was pretty big fun!
Last "real" concert I visited was Dream Theater, next will be U2 or Pearl Jam if they ever come to Hungary

Friday, I saw SUM 41. Man, the lead "singer" really sucks live. Last night, I saw Bif Naked and The Tea Party. I wasn't too crazy about her attempts to put jazz beats into her singing when her songs are rock and moving towards punk. She put on a good show though. But The Tea Party was awesome. The lead singer is so talented, and he totally just drew me into their music.
They also ended off the night with Todd Kerns singing some Welcome to the Jungle with The Tea Party. That was great, too.

i think the last concert I saw was Dave Edmunds in Buffalo last year. Dave played acoustic with no backup, and I was sitting about 20 feet away. This was great for me because Dave is my all time favorite guitarist/recording artist. He is just awesome live.
If you ever get a chance to see him live, don't hesitate - just go. You won't regret it.

Last concert I saw was Eddie Money at the Marin County Fair, last Saturday. he just gave an awesome performance overall. he opened up with "Two Tickets To Paradise," and everyone was just dancing from their chairs and singing along with the tune. I didn't know all the lyrics to the song, but I know it well enough to sing most of it. It was one of the best things I enjoyed about the concert.
