A friend of mine thinks I might have carpal tunnel syndrome. Basically I wake up in the morning, and I go to turn on the computer icon_biggrin.gif, but my right arm (for some reason it's never the left) doesnt move at all. I cant feel it at all, I cant move it at all. Only thing I can feel from it is a hot/cold (its almost like its a combination of both) feeling from the biceps. It lasts for about half an hour after I wake up (it's happened to me 3 times now, the most recent being 3 days ago) and then I slowly regain feeling and movement. I think it might just be the blood collecting so much (because I sleep with my right arm under my head & pillow) in the arm, but usually that causes tingly feelings or just numbness, not paralysis.

Any ideas?

That's not carpal tunnel. It doesn't have symptoms like that. I think if you are born in 1988 you are probably jerking my chain. If you are serious , very few things would do that. The possible diagnoses would include these. I would ask my doctor to check this out.

Whenever I wake up and one or both of my arms is numb, I know it's time to go to the chiropractor. But it never lasts more than a couple of minutes.

Well, I am born in 88, but I have found that lying really has adverse effects than what is intended. I figured I may check it out here before I see a doctor.

Sorry to jump on you Mew. I was in a bad mood today. I really think you should get that checked out. It doesn't happen to many people in your age group. It really sounds like you might have thoracic outlet sysdrome.
