I cannot get the bass and treble controls to work with my new board (Abit KV7). They are there, but greayes out. Put the SB Live back in for the time being.

They were greyed out on my Abit motherboard and my friends Asus.
I believe that is the way it is now with AC97 onboard sound.

I looked on Abit's web site and there is a new BIOS available. Also, you could try reinstalling the audio driver from Abit's site in case the CD is old. www.abit-usa.com/downloads

I thought all onboard sound other than Nforce and Intel's High definition audio motherboards had the bass and treble disabled.

So what's the advantage of even having on-board sound if it don't even hold to the basic SB16 standards?
