Well i try;d flashing the bios of my backup computer... and well IT SCREW'D UP.. so i'm without a compute for a week or more!

boot your computer while holding F5...you should be able to get intot he bios and boot into windows even, then reflash it...

what mobo u got?

If it just beeps and scans the floppy with nothing on the screen, put the bios on a floppy named amiboot.rom <-- exactly like that. Give it a min or two, until you hear some diff kind of beeping and floppy access stops. Then reboot.

hosing your Bios sucks:) I like my giga-byte with dual bios technology so if one fails it has a fallback:)

anyway.,. it said the bios files was the wrong size.. i ignored it becuase it was the same one i used before... stranget thing is I DOESN'T WORK THIS TIME.. and now.. everything powers up but it doesn't scan the floppy.. beside.... iu already took it apart...

you dont need a psu for that baby, just connect it to your brain, enough watts come out of that to power it.

You can only flash the one, the other one just sits there and waits for the old one to fail, or you can choose to restore the factory bios from the backup.

I gotta ask, when it ask you if you want to save old bios, you did say yes?

that depends on whether he used the hot keys at startup or used the bootable floopy flash proggy. The hotkey way doesn't give you a save option.

..which is why you should boot off a floppy and not use the hotkey...

less chance of it dying though. you do from floppy, anything can go wrong(data corruption or bad sectors)

cool, I wondered how that worked... that is a really nice feature I wish more mobo's had

they don't ask if you wanna back it up if it's the wrong one.. and there's no chance of a backflash anyway.. it doesn't power up the floppy.. acts like half the flash file was missing...

btw.. my psu should be here tomorrow
