what is the best and easiest way to transfer data from one harddrive to another. The Bull is going to help me, but I was hoping to surprise him with my vast computer knowledge. :wink: Thank you in advance for any help you can give me QueenBW

how much data?
and if the HD is going to be used other than the PM (primary Master)...then drive to drive is good...just install both in the same computer...copy/paste...

Norton Ghost would work fine. note that the ghost file created will be more or less the same size as your HDD content so you need somewhere to store it in the meanwhile...

Main hard drive (Primary Master) - one that runs your PC
Second hard drive (Secondary Master) - one that you want to copy
Allows for the most bandwidth and fastest moving times.

doesnt even have to primary slave...unless you are copying the whle contents on drive c:/
if it is just files...hook em up where ever...

If you're running Win98, HDCopy works great. I just used it to transfer old hard drive files to a new one.

Depends what you want to do, if its copy all of windows across then use Norton Ghost, if its just to copy some files then just copy and paste or cut and paste.
