What is with them. I find them to be a waste of bandwidth and very childish. Grow up please. Surely you can just put your silly little sayings in writing. No offence to kingbob. At least they aren't stupid little childish sayings.
I hate having to go to some of my forums (which are slow due to the amount of people using them) only to have to wait longer for them to load due to people having a large pic in their sig which is stupid too look at anyway.

yep.most other forums i am a member of disallow them due to the bandwidth hogs they are.

I think an avatar is enuff... no need or pictures in the sigs.

I have to agree here,i find them childish,and imature,not to mention the disrespect it shows to our dialup users.
To me it shows a great deal of insecurity,possibily from a bad home life.
After the first look no one looks at them again anyway.

OK, here's the problem: I cannot dis-allow pics in signatures, only limit the number of characters. But, I can turn them off altogether. Tell me what you guys want.

I don't care for them, myself. Most of the sig pics that I've seen are large, garish, and usually a billboard for self-aggrandizement.

file size limitations should only be in efffect if the file is hosted on the 4peeps.com servers...

I'm not going to come down to your level and attack you as a person...Just try to stay on topic.

i dont mind them, (the smallish ones) like say 300*150 or something similar... but if you say "it doesnt look good smaller" then i say design something new, something simpler that WILL look good smaller. its a challenge not a hinderence.

This is not a personal attack dbry222 ,but when a peep at 4peeps has a concern then we address it. If the majority wants a change then theres a good chance a change will be made.

I dont want to have to turn off pictures just to come to a forum. That is just rediculous. I want to go to a forum so I can offer points of view/help, get information/help and, god forbid, read messages, not look at pictures. If I wanted to look at pictures, I would go to the local art gallery or any number of sources on the net.

Well some of us come here for the pix...Use Mozilla...you can block pix from just certain sites.

Besides, I don't view the effort to get rid of sig pix as personal...

Ok, here's the dilema:

If we allow them some peeps will be pissed and may not come back. If we don't allow them, some peeps will be pissed and won't come back. Neither I or any of the staff want to see that happen. How about limiting the size? Mine is 8950 bytes and 139 x 51 pixels. Any suggestions?

size shouldn't matter unless someone puts up a wallpaper
what about limiting it to 30-35k.. then it wouldn't clog up dail up =/

As I said before, I cannot limit the size with the forum options, only limit the number of charachters allowed. It's on or off. We can make rules on how large (dimensions and file size). It would have to be enforced on a case by case basis.
