Firstly hello , Ive just joined , Really need some help please! I have suddenly got a major headache with my xp pc, Despite a reinstall using ghost 2003 and putting my system back ...as was, I cannot get my hp printer to print anymore, Problems started after I made a backup of one of my dvds, so i reinstalled my system and all worked fine, well for a while, I ran checks with adaware se plus, spybot and avg 7.0 in case I had been got at by spyware, but My pc just refused to print anything it simply put up that it was printing but locked when i attempted to clear the printer , the printer icon refusing to clear from the taskbar by the clock ,all other programs seem to work , I would like to wipe my xp os and reinstall but I am unsure how to proceed , despite having installed sp2 without any problems I have never done a brand new reinstall fearing that the pc would not detect the modem settings and being unsure as to how to keep or find my isp settings and passwords, I didnt have ghost when I first had my pc so all backups were 6 months onward and when you first get a pc as you all know you make big mistakes, SO ! would someone be kind enough to help guide me through the re install process? I want to keep my isp details , phone dial out passwords etc and my favorites, safely reinstall my avg 7.0 and kerio firewall sp2 etc without getting shutdown by blaster virus in 10secs flat, that happened when i first plugged my pc in 12 months ago and cost me a packet! Thanks : icon_lol.gif i havent got a backup of sp1

Welcome! We will do our best to help you!

But please help us a little bit in helping, and use punctuation and paragraphs icon_smile.gif

Thank you, and enjoy your stay!

More on topic: you could easily stay clear of Blaster after a reinstall if you remove all network cables going to your cable modem or such stuff, and install all the antivirus utilities you previously burned to a cd. After this, you can connect to the net and avoid trouble icon_smile.gif

NOTE: It is possible to add additional settings, folders, and files during the migration process.

The Migration Wizard does not migrate passwords. Passwords for Dial-Up Networking connections, Microsoft Outlook Express accounts, Microsoft Internet Explorer saved passwords, mapped drives, and so on will need to be reconfigured once the migration is complete.

For Outlook express, go to tool, accounts, export.
