I cleaned out the tank yesterday, and grabbed this cool snap while he was hangin out in the bucket. He's about 14" long, and still growing...

what kinda fish is that?

He's a ghost knife fish. He's got one long fin along the length of his belly that he ripples to move through the water. Kind of looks like drapes moving in the wind. He's an electric fish... it's not painful when he zaps you though, kind of a tickle.

salt water is so cool,i had a 175 gallon tank here in FL.

I'd like to grab a salt water tank, but this guy's a freshwater, and he's part of the family... had him since he was only 3" long.

huh u had him since yours was only 3" long... u must have been a little kid

Usually I feed him frozen beef heart and liver, but sometimes I give him live blood worms.

He's also been known to eat whole tetras

does he shock them before he eats them?

blood worms = mosquito larva...

my father in law has a ton of tanks and fish...

large tanks...has a community of cichlid...(err, spelling...)

He mostly uses his electric powers to see rather than attack... knife fish are pretty near blind.

I take advantage of that fact, I put a 2' long clear acrylic tube in the tank, and he "hides" in it.

is this sheildwolf off of petfish?
