it works great for me. I suggest re-installing it. The best way is to go to a site that needs it and let the browswer go get it.

sorry that i cannot help further but i have never personally exerienced that problem.

what site are you trying to use? maybe I can test it and see if mine works.

some older applets might need an older Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
Kingbob
ive had no probs with it

I think the problem is not on your side, but on the site's side. It seems to me that part of the java program is missing from their server.

after doing about 80 Google searches...i have found that there are Billions of people with the same problem on different OS's...Solaris, Linux, Mac, and Window Versions...
and there are also Millions of different suggestions ans work arounds...all that do NOT work...

it has to do with both Firefox, and Suns crappy Java...

apparently Firefox supports only Java 1.3 or something like that...but the problem is...Java older than J2SE5 contain a security flaw...unistalled Java 1.5, and installed a copy of 1.3...still, same problem...

Uninstalled FF and Java...installed FF first, then java...still no go...
