Full Version: Chinese MP3 Player Problem (Not Firmware)

Okay,

I've got one of those generic Chinese MP3 players from Ebay that everyone keeps trying to get firmware fixes for. But my problem is different. I can load up files and play music and everything. The problem is that when I take the bloody thing jogging, it just restarts. It will play forever when on a flat surface, and it will play from 30 second to five minutes befre it restarts when I'm running.

I doubt this is a firmware issue, any guesses as to what is causing this?

i would guess battery loseing connection

The battery thing seems feasible as when it shutsdown/restarts it looks as if a new battery has been installed. Should I crack the puppy open and look for poorly sodered (sp) connections? I'm still awaiting feedback from Ebay seller. I'm hoping this isn't a problem specific to these players... In that most buyers are couch potatoes who never take theirs jogging.

i would wait on ebay reply,if no joy than open it , turn it on and move , poke with a toothpick or something nonmatalic till you find a bad connection

ALSO MAKE SURE THE BATTERY ISNT MOVING AROUND IN THE CASE (LOOSE)...MAYBE BEND THE PRONGS UP ALITTLE (sorry for the caps-caps lock was on)

Okay, here's some more info.
Here's a pic:

I've found if I tap the left side (The side that says USB) of the player somewhat firmly the player resets, but it only does it while it is playing. It doesn't do it in any other modes, If I tap it while the player is paused, no problem. If I tap it while its in a system or folder menu, again no problem. It only happens when playing? I'm a little skeptical about the battery contacts being the problem. Has anyone else had this problem with these types of players?

hey, Agent_177@hotmail.com, how did you open the plastic case?
I guess it is impossible to open that thing without braking something inside!
Tell us what you did! where did you make pressure?
pappy177
well the thing draws the most power when playing , not sitting still
think about it

The seller said he would send me a new one. Hopefully this one will work. Has anyone had any good experience with these types of players???
