The escalation of suicide bombers in Baghdad aimed at innocent children, and civilian populations, testifies for the need for a more effective clean up effort. Unfortunately, all the weapons and munitions have not been destroyed, or accounted for after the initial military push and success. Iraq is vital to promote peace and harmony in the world today.
(1) Would suggest taking about 250,000 Iraqi recruits to Ft. Hood, Texas, and Camp Roberts, California-other installations if needed. Doing a 8 week intensified training program. One week travel both ways at the most. (for Korea we had six weeks) This would mean two and and a half months, and they are on the ground working in a place they are aware of and born in. These troops can hit the ground running, and are trained without being blown-up in line waiting to get into the Baghdad recruiting office - military or police! In addition, they would not be subject to any of these social problems or interference while training. It is also a good way to inculcate what and how a Democracy is, and works. That is, if this idea is still to be paramount in promotion by the United States. Note that the United States has trained different troops, at different times in our history.
(2) Have the ethnic groups that have been subject to mistreatment and torture guard these terrorists. That is, both domestic, and those that are coming into the country from other surrogate promoting terrorist states in the region.
(3) Start the oil wells going on a regular basis. That is, start to generate capital that can be used to replace the capital the United States is pouring into that rat hole! There still is the question of past war reparations. That is, what Iraq owes other countries for past aggressive actions against them. In addition, along with costs owed the United States for their liberation and rebuilding of their infrastructure. This infrastructure was left to decay and fell into disrepair for the last four decades under the tenure of hard hitting Saddam-electrical, sewer systems, water, schools, hospitals, and so on!
Below is a short blurb on the horrible lunatic attack in Baghdad: Reuters News. 7/14/05
Thursday's attacks followed a major suicide car bombing in the capital a day earlier, when an insurgent blew up his vehicle in a crowd near U.S. troops in Baghdad on Wednesday, killing 27 people and wounding about 70, most of them children.
One U.S. soldier was among those killed, and three were among the injured, U.S. forces said.
An Iraqi television crew traveling to the funerals of some of those who died were ambushed by gunmen on Thursday, their employers said. Three journalists were wounded.
Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Farrell told Reuters his men had cordoned off an area of houses near a highway for security sweeps on Wednesday when the bomber drove up an alley. The bomber failed to pierce the military cordon and detonated his vehicle in a crowd of children and adults nearby.
"The scene was almost indescribable," he said. "People nearest the blast, some were literally obliterated on the scene. Multiple lacerations and traumatic amputations. At least nine people I saw were killed instantly in a most horrific fashion."
