Won't be until the middle of next year though.
Does your beetle have the 20 valve turbo engine, like the Golf's ?

the same engines are used all over the VW groups brands, give or take a few.
all in the name of economy of scale
i love the high rpms in the Type R engines *drool*

Jason,
Yes. it is a 20 Valve intercooled tubo
adhesive,
This engine in a highly factory tweaked 180 HP version of the standard 1.8T (150 HP)
adhesive
Nov 7 2002, 02:46 PM
yes, i know. it's called 1.8T (180) i think?
same engine as the 150HP version but with a different chip programming.
correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm positive the same engine also comes without turbo.

The 1.8T for 2003 is now 170 HP. Yes there is chip fiddling but the Type S gets mechanical adjsutments.
I really do not know what you mean "without the turbo". The normally aspirated engine is the 2.0 Litre 115 HP model. Probably uses diferent BorexStroke to get it from 1800 cc to roughly 2000 cc
Yeah, they probably are all based on the same thing... Even my TDI is a 1.9L Turbo Diesel.... same block, different connecting rods, lobes, crank settings, etc.,

same block, yes. that's where i was going :P thanks
i have to read up on the 2003 models i think...

The Honda S2000 is a very nice car, but I prefer the Civic as it is more practicle for me.
As a 2nd car the S2000 would be a great car.
