OK - here it is... my first airbrush flame-job. Jemezman wanted something cool on his plain-old gas tanks, so I suggested flames - sometime earlier this summer. He gave me artistic discretion and asked me to have it done by the car show on Oct 15th.

So, earlier this weekend (Saturday) I masked off the tanks, drew the flames, cut 'em out, and hit 'em with the airbrush and supplied DuPont Centauri Yellow.

Not too bad... but he's happy with them, which is all that matters.

Whatcha think?

Off Topic (regarding your bike): I'm thinkin' a pint each of 3 or 4 colors and some clear will do it all... skull included - with lots leftover. I think most body shops won't mix less than a pint - but I'll check. All of the paint you see above took less than an ounce after it was mixed with reducer for the airbrush. And I sprayed a ton of it on there... a little goes a long way.

Medium blue, darker blue, white, and black. Then it'll need a pretty good shot of clear on all the parts. Based on what research I've been doing, it looks like just a basic laying down of the darker color in the blurry pattern, then using a floating stencil for the highlights and lighter colors. A skull is no biggee at all... making the flames look real will be the fun part.

I'm stoked as well... this should be fun. Getting all the parts back to you will be the fun part as well.

We will work that out somehow, someway. I am just excited to have a bike that is definitely mine and one of a kind. thumbup1.gif
