Beware! When trying to apply for rebates from Tiger Direct. Tiger Direct requires you to go through OnRebate.com to apply, this requires a 6 page process of jumping through hoops. On page 3 of the jumping they are to email you with a tracking number that verifies your email address. They allow themselves 24 hours of hang time to get you a email, then they don't send it at all. So you get to tell them to send it again, and of course they don't send it. So you have to send them a email that you didn't get their email.

For your trouble you get:

Unfortunately, your mail was not delivered to the following address:

<NOEMAIL@onrebate.com>:
63.247.80.131 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550-"The recipient cannot be verified. Please check all recipients of this
550 message to verify they are valid."
Giving up on 63.247.80.131.

It seems to me like a lot of trouble to save the $50 they owe you as a rebate on a hard drive. I realize they are getting rich if they can get by with it, but I think they could make more with my continued business.

Oh, buy the way after playing this game with them I will still have to send everything to Tiger Direct to verify and get my rebate.

What a Business Model they are running by.

Tiger's rebates have always been slow and difficult.
Much to my suprize, Best Buy has become (remarkably) easier.
Just bought a new DVD player (video/TV type).
By ordering online, for in store pickup, I got the best price (lowest of online or in store price applies) Knew it was in stock/reserved for me, before I went to the store (store line was kind of slow) and the rebate is all via internet (code numbers on reciept)
no UPC or mail-in needed. Plus no BS from rebate company about having never recieved it or didn't arrive until 3 weeks after the USPS return reciept shows it delivered.
The only thing better is instant or no rebates needed for the best price.

After a one hour phone wait, (2 tries) I was told to contact OnTrack.com at 1-888-222-9300. Ontrack's Answering Machine told me to sent a Email to support@ontrack.com. (Not where the website said.)

I received a Email that they would send me a Email within 72 hours. (Fat Chance) If they do we will play Email Tag for a few more days probably. Tiger Direct is blaming it on the storms in Florida. I guess they forgot they could have blamed it on Bush!

Well TD could be correct about the storm..... And they could have blamed it on both bushes (Jeb seems ready to take the heat, He must be up to something tongue_smilie.gif )
My dad didn't get one of his TD rebates yet (it was only May fragend013.gif ) for his LCD, However when the first one didn't show up on schedule, they rush shipped a second one to him, the first one showed up a month later, and because UPS had already payed the claim (to TD) TD REFUSEDto bill him for it (yes, he called to ask them if they wanted it back, OR should he pay wallbash.gif )
So $40 rebate OR second 19" LCD..........hmmmmmmm.... let me think icon_question.gif icon_question.gif ..... dance.gif oh yeah!

Today after a 72 hour wait for a E-mail from OnTrack.com, none was sent. I called them and after a 45 minute wait, I was given a tracking number and instructions how to use it to print out the rebate form.

I sent the form and all requested papers to OnTrack. Since I have had such a good experience shopping with them, I sent it registered mail for just under $5, I know a fool and his rebate money is soon parted.

Now the Big Wait is afoot. Time wasted 6 days and $5 postage.

At least I can confirm without a doubt Tiger Direct and OnTrack both have at least one live employ, that's good to know, they had me wondering. shocking.gif

I buy from Tiger all the time and I admit their rebate program stinks. Their order taking and prompt shipping are great but I refuse to order anything that has a rebate attached from them if I can find it else where. I told Tiger customer service this and they responded with the rebate guarantee " send the rebate forms registered mail return receipt and we will guarentee the rebate" well duh, most cases the registered mail is more that the rebate. Maby I will forward this thread to them via e-mail.

A $50 + $10 rebate on a Seagate 250 GB, I figure if I get them I will come out about $24 better that the like harddrive I bought from ZipZoomFly, but if you count my time at $5 per hour, I lost money.
