That bites. When the wife did that last year she at least waited a month or so between the two so the body shop could replace all the same parts twice. icon_razz.gif

At least you have insurance that'll cover it! When I got mine, I totalled one car and had to replace the hood and headlights on the other. With PLPD, so the entire cost was out of pocket.

Deer here are freaken HUGE, too. icon_cry.gif

I take it your son is ok? That's the main thing! icon_smile.gif

Deer and elk are a problem for drivers here too.
But you can be parked and have "wildlife damage" to your vehicle

Son is indeed ok, thanks for the concern. $2700 for the repairs (I only got to pay $50 under comprehensive deductable).

At least you had an opportunity to get some good out of it (meat), last night our neighbor's tree fell on our van and dented the roof.
Mister 4x4
You should look into getting a tougher vehicle. I hit an almost 400 lb Mule Deer outside of Green River, UT on the way back to Texas in 2000. I was doing around 70 and he stepped right out in front of me, ironically when my Mom and I were talking about how many times I'd zoomed through that patch of road and never seen a deer when I had my Mustang (12 years before).

For all of its size and weight, all it did was bend my bumper and bust a headlight - and I don't have a big-ass ranch-hand bumper or anything. I'm tellin' ya - Dodge Rams are the shiznit!

Oh, and it only ran me $50 deductable off of $1480 damage.

And I drove it home the rest of the way to San Angelo. Granted, with a headlight pointing at the sky... but nonetheless. icon_wink.gif

I'm not driving yet but I'm sure if I was I'd hit something eventually. Hopefully it's a pole or something & not a living thing like a deer or a person.

Wow. The truck did good with the size weight and speed. thumbsup.gif

I've hit plenty of "critters", deer, turkeys, whathaveyou....I've also myself have been hit with a car, and I didn't get a scratch on me...could explain why I'm a little screwd in the head though... help.gif
otherwise...not so bad

and if you have a big enough truck you can steer it into things...lol icon_twisted.gif

I hit a deer last week. Just did 2 small cracks in my grill, but the deer did a double-back with a 1/2 gainer. hysterical.gif

Nope, he lost some major points there. But he was able to run away afterwards, so I had to score him for toughness. thumbup1.gif
