First post here, so first of all hello everybody.

Next the matter at hand.

I've just purchased a 1Gb MP3 player. I beleve it's made by SumVision, and is model M19.

The place that I got it from stated:

Disk encrypt and Disk partition.Using the enclosed software tools it is possible to encrypt and partition the disk space as you like.

7-Color backlight display.

Timing off.Automatic off time and sleep time can be set.

First all the encolsed software does in install a format program. Don't how you encrypt and partition the disk

next, I have 1 colour (blue) backlight display. where are/ how do get the other 6 colours

Timing off, sleep, not a clue on how these work either

I've also read that this player supports Folders and has a bulit in Telephone book, and Txt file reader.

Again, if it does, I don't know where.

Have I been cheated with this player

I would be most grateful if someone could help me out. And before someone says 'read the manual'. I have
, and it tells me nothing. I must say that its a translated one from chinese or somewhere near to english and is as about as much use as a submarine in the desert.

Is this USB 2.0? Can it be viewed as a Drive? If it can and there are no folders with those programs and files on it, it does appear that you have--in fact--been cheated.

Yes it is USB 2.0, and yes it does see it as a drive. I suppose thrice yes I've been cheated.

I've been looking on the SumVision website, and I can't even find a model M19 on there, just a M18.

I'm a bit mad at this to say the least. Although my M8 says'Stop moaning, it plays MP3's, whats the problem'

I think he's missing the point.

I guess this is simply a lesson of BEWARE! what you buy, all that glitters..etc

If anyone still has any adive on this, Id still be most grateful.

Sumvision doesn't list an M19 but a number of UK sites list it for sale, with a few different specs, one site says "7 colour" another says "3 colour" and a third just says "backlight". None of the support links lead anywhere useful (I don't even buy any tech product unless they have a decent and readable support site)
I'm guessing it was cheap, but even if not, you have 3 choices
Use it 'as is'
RMA it (and by a better one)
write Sumvision and ask for specs and support info (their site sucks too) and hope they respond promptly in understandable english

Yes, there are a bunch of good choices. The hard drive ones hold a ton these days.
