The only part of an otherwise self-agrandizing and elitist statement, which seems to prove just why most of the world's citizens can't stand Americans, I happen to agree with is the amount of money European nations have given, and continue to give, to nations that have proven, and continue to prove, that all they spend that money on is weaponry and training for terrorists. That and the mistaken belief held by the United Nations that you can come to a mutually beneficial agreement when one of the parties involved wants nothing less than the total annihilation of the other.
generally agree here. one of the things "Americans" forget, is many/most of us came from somewhere else one to three generations ago. They came seeking both econmic and social/religious/ and political freedom.
Right now all off those are endangered both due to previous actions of our goverment, and particularly the current administration's drive towards war.
What value does killing 1 enemy today have if the anger over the process, creates 10 more tomorrow? and alienaties 10 more of our current friends.
While the U.N. an awkward method, at least it can, get nations talking to each other. The world is too small a place for anyone to feel safe just by carrying the biggest stick.
At some point we have to learn to get along.
