Coz
for drunken drivers!!!

I handled a couple of bad accidents recently, and guess what, they all were drunk.

Tonight I even had one guy (the driver of course was drunk) who had a minor laceration on his finger but escaped relatively un-scathed. His passenger however, was not so fortunate. He was entrapped in the vehicle which was upside down, almost cleaved in half by a telephone pole.

So kids, once again, I dont want a repeat performance of last year (those of you who were at M|R forums remember what I am talking about. Those of you who don't, ask around, I don't feel like repeating it)!

Drink and enjoy yourself, dont get behind the wheel. Standup and dont be afraid to ask for a ride home or to crash at your buddies place. Your ego and self-esteem is not as important as someone else's life that you may take.

This relatively short, rambiling post is brought to you by CoZ. I just got off of work from a little bit of Overtime and I am tired, but I wanted to make sure you all got the message.

Amen coz. Working in a hospital ER/Lab, we get to meet these people after the fact. Coz is right, it is NOT worth it. Seems most the people who get in the accidents were just driving home. "It was just a short drive". Call a cab, walk, ask for a ride, stay where you are......whatever it takes. It is quite often that the drunk driver is not the one seriously injured. It is often the victim. When you sit behind the wheel after a few cold ones, take some time to seriously consider another way home.

I seldom admit to agreeing with coz, but for once he is right.

And for those of you that dont care that much about the other people you my injure or kill and continue to drink and drive, remember that they my have crazy loved ones......like me. FIREdevil.gif

Coz is like the Montel Williams of 4peeps.com. Day to Day stories packed chalk full of action icon_biggrin.gif

If you can afford to drink, you can afford a cab to get home... plain and simple.

Or you can have the party at your own house and not drive at all! icon_biggrin.gif Just make sure no one that's been drinking does, either.
Mandark
yeah! a party and smoke pot instead of drink!

oops... /runs away
bull
icon_mad.gif It's driving under the influence of any intoxicating substance, Mr Manny.

I've seen stoners in the exact same boat as the drinkers. "Damn man, wtf happened??" icon_rolleyes.gif

I know bull, I was being an ass as usual. I still feel sick when I remember those photos CoZ posted at MR..... and the trajic loss of a young life. I don't do drugs anymore... not for years now.... and really wish I never would have wasted my time on that crap to begin with.

It really is stupid.. any way you slice it.

i had a drunk driver hit the light post just beside my door the other week. car was a wreck - no way in heck they would be able to repair it. lightpost went sprawling over the neighbors yard.
the driver wobbled off before i (i heard the crash of course) got ahold of the bastard and held him 'til the law arrived. he was virtually unharmed thanks to the pillowfight in his 2002 BMW. (yes, quality costs, but is damn well worth it)

heck, there are kids in this neighborhood!

no damn sympathy EVER for drunk drivers.
