When do you think the the PC will get a version of Mac OS?
T-Shirt
probably never! (would it be a MAC on PC?)
there already are Mac like GUI's for windows, and likely within the next couple years Apple will migrate at least some MACs to x86 hardware.
My question would be why bother?

Who cares?!? Then all (all, that's funny!) of software that runs on the Mac OS would have to be recompiled for the x86 processor. Given the amount of time, effort, and expense that would be incurred in doing this versus the typically stellar (Not!) sales quantities of Mac software titles and you come up with absolutely no sound business reason to bother with this endeavor in the first place!

My PC already runs MAC OS X. Anyone want a screenshot?

heh...i used Aqua Bar, Windows Blinds, and DesktopX to make my PC look like a MAC. I even changed the WINXP logon screen. I find it amusing every time i turn my computer on...

Seriously, why would you want OS X on an IBM Compatible? OS X doesn't have kill.exe!!

Who cares icon_lol.gif

I don't think they will as Apple survive on selling over expensive hardware.
MadCow
First, they have Mac OS 10.2 running on PC... they make sure they can get all there new OS's to run on PC platform just in case...

Second, There is not word yet that Apple will use x86 parts. It was rommored that they might use the 64x86 chip from AMD.

Therd, they will not have to recomple hardly any of there software. All there software is able to run on there PC OS10 version. Once they make software they test it on the PC, if that does not work then they send it back untill it does.

Personly I would love OS 10 on my PC. Some thing other then MS... (for some of you that might surprise you icon_wink.gif eh ace)

I know they have an x86 version just don't think it will ever be released as it will end their hardware sales and the OS would be pirated.
MadCow
I don't think it would end there hardware sales... ppl still want easy to use computers... and they are some of the most easy to use... and most stylish.... far more stylish then any PC I think.... I think it would hurt there hardware but not kill it... and there hard ware is where they make all there money...

I'm sure there must be some extream way of making it so the OS can only be installed on one computer... taking a mac address and some other computer id's... and intergrated software ids... and making a super id... and then having a online registration with apple... I hate that about XP, but if apple did it, I would not mide as much...
