fragend013.gif I deleted the partition on my easytech nm791 mp4 player, i need the firmware and i don't know how to fix the problem please help me

you should have drivers provided by EasyTech

http://eshop.easytechmp3.com/product_info....products_id=115

Drivers for Win98SE

you can try to re-create a partition from Windows. I bet the firmware is fine and burned on the EEPROM, not the flash memory

so just try creating a new partion from Windows and see if it starts working.

Hello,
I know it's almost completely off-topic, but it's the same manufacturer so what the hey.

I'm having problems with my Easytech MN793. It works fine, but I am just wondering how to obtain newer firmware (or whether firmware for the mp4 player can actually be obtained).

I couldn't fine any firmware available for download on the Easytech website so I was hoping someone could help.

Cheers,
Trevor

There is no firmware upgrade for your unit.

Don't ever believe anyone if they post otherwise.

It is what it is, and that is all it is. DO NOT ATTEMPT to upgrade the firmware unless you want to turn that MP3 player into JUNK.

Thanks for the tip-off, I'll leave the firmware exactly the way it is.

So if there's no firmware ugrades, how come it has an upgrade firmware option in the system tools menu? Is that just for the manufacturers or something?

seems to be conspiracy or something. they tip your curiosity, then, as soon as you "upgrade" it, it is destroyed. see, it makes them more money, or perhaps they have plans to enable that functionality in the future.

all i am trying to do is save you some money.

look around the many threads here with all the folks who allegedly "upgraded" their mp3 player firmware, and found to their utter and forlorn surprise that the once, useful gadget was now an unusable piece of inoperable junk......

wow--that seemed a bit dramatic--sorry: i really need to get back to writing my script.....

ta ta for now and please, if you want a better MP3 player, iPod is a great choice. they really do implement firmware upgrades that really upgrade your iPod--not destroy it.
