This is my XP2000 locked with a multiplier of 11.5 instead of 12.5(stuffed the unlock icon_cry.gif ) This is using my Volcano 7+ modded HSF. Cant wait for my phase change system to get up and running icon_biggrin.gif

It has currently got 1.9Vcore running through it, but when I put it to 2.1V, it runs stable at 166FSB, just too damn hot for air cooling icon_cry.gif This is running with comfortable temps for me. BTW, this is at full load all teh time Folding icon_smile.gif

Now show me yours

I am guessing that's a t-bred cpu? Mines a palomino which aren't as good as overclockers. Especially the 2000's as they were towrds the end of the AGOIA run icon_cry.gif

The t-bred xp's are getting some great output in the world of overclocking. The t-bred B cores are fantastic icon_smile.gif
ldonyo
That's why I'm waiting until probably February to get another CPU. I want to be damn sure all of the Palomino A's are out of the channel before I get another one.
fxr91
May as well wiat until march/april for the Barton core to come out. 512kb of L2 goodness icon_biggrin.gif
GoKu
I thought you could unlock them to be the same as a T-bred, or close? icon_confused.gif If not, Im getting that 1,800 T-BRED over the 2,100 XP Palomino. hmmm
ntruax
It is a t-bred b. So far I'm pretty happy with it but cooling it takes more than I thought it was going to. I'll probably go deaf from the fan i'm running on it.
ntruax
Really my plan was to wait for Barton to come out but with AMD's delays and paper launching lately I changed my mind.

Nope, t-bred is a completely different core. 0.13 vs 0.18 of the palamino's
ntruax
This is the one I just put together. It's a 2100 T-bred. It'll run at 2.24 but it's not stable at that speed. Kinda makes you wonder if spending $300 on a 2600 is worth it doesn't it?

Well, my 2100+ tbred b runs at 190x13 without a hitch icon_biggrin.gif

p4 2.0a @ 2.8ghz w/1.9v (it can up to 2.0v)

runs fine on stock intel cooling icon_biggrin.gif
ntruax
Let's see some Sandra scores. :P
fxr91
OK icon_biggrin.gif
I will post them after work icon_smile.gif
ntruax
Where's the Intel scores? You're beating us by about 400 MHz. Show the scores.

I went and gout that Cpu-Z program, thats a nice alternative to Wcpuid. I like it better icon_biggrin.gif

Nice little app there...thanx
fxr91
You want Sandra scores, you got em icon_biggrin.gif

The voltage is wrong in cpu-Z, it is actually running at 1.9 at that speed at around 47 C. icon_cool.gif

To get this score, I found it best to run your ram in sync with the processor, so when at 133, the ram was also at 133 icon_smile.gif Causes a few probs going out of sync icon_cry.gif

And yes, cpu-Z is a good one. I flicked wcpuid for it about 4 months ago icon_smile.gif
ntruax
Nice icon_biggrin.gif

Are you still using the Vapochill?

I know what you mean about running in sync, I've noticed lower scores running async.

I'll see what I can do when I get the new boards tomorrow. These v1.1 NF7-S's (and v1.0) suck when it comes to voltage. All I can get out of them is about 1.79. And at that this chip craps out at around 2400MHz. I'm hoping to get a little more out of it by shoving at least 1.9 down its throat. icon_biggrin.gif
fxr91
Nah, having a problem with the vapo's compressor icon_cry.gif It is starting to die a loud death and I just don't have the cash to replace it at the moment icon_cry.gif So air it is for a while me thinks...

Anyway, the title for this thread is air based overclocks so air it had to be :P
ntruax
That sucks. I wondered when you said what your temps are at that speed. What board are you using?
fxr91
8RDA+ Rev 1.1

At this time, I haven't done full testing for high o/clock stable. I just bumped it up to what I thought would work and it did icon_biggrin.gif

Now to try with 1 stick, 2 in single channel mode, etc. I need at least a full day to do what I intend to do icon_smile.gif
nfinitefx_
I wish my GA-7ZXR had a few more overclocking options so I could run my cpu bus at 133 (266DDR). My board is funny though, I can run my ram at 133MHz and my cpu's FSB at 112MHz...I always end up with weird products :P
ntruax
Hey fxr91, what's your stepping on that chip? These 2600's are dogs. I almost want to RMA them.
fxr91
The stepping for this bitch is AIUHB 0304 TPLW. I am now going to be doing bench's with the mem sticks in single channel rather than dual(dual reduces max o/clock) and then 1 stick at a time icon_smile.gif
ntruax
Those must be better than the 0301's then. That thing is rocking icon_cool.gif

I'm jealous icon_twisted.gif
fxr91
I dunno, guys I know with prometias and vapo PE(the new one) are getting 2500+. I think this one could do much better with the vapo too but, oh well icon_cry.gif
