I got a friend wanting to sell me 2, 15inch kickers and a couple 2000 watt amps...
Does anyone knw where I can get the boxes for them...and help me figure out how to put them in a honda civic hatchback...I might blow somin up....that's proboly important... like the car itself
You can get the boxes for them over at crutchfield.com. You can search there for the dimensions on your subs and then select the appropriate enclosures for them.
As far as running the wires to the amp from the head unit to the subs? That my friend, you are on your own with. Many friends back in the good ole days of "High School" has torched (caught on fire) his car from trying to install wires to stereos in the cars. NOT good.
Pony up the money and get them installed by a pro shop that does that sort of thing. Otherwise..... it could be... FLAME ON!

You'll only want one of those 2000 watt amps hooked up to both of those subs - trust me. The first time you crank up the tunes more than halfway with each amp pushing a single sub, you'll need to run right out and get some more subs. And yes, if you're not sure how to hook all this stuff up - seek professional help. I'm sure they'll tell you the same thing about running all that power from both amps through those puny 15"s (in comparison).
My rule of thumb: bring the gain on the amp down to about 1/4 impulse power (10%), turn the volume up on the head unit to the point of 'redline' (where the output sound of the other channels just starts getting icky - all systems have that), and then bring the gain up to where the subs still sound good with the other players. This will balance out your system. Don't worry, I'm sure the subs will still bump for people outside of the car (which is the only real reason why people need subs and amps of those magnitudes, right?)
Nothing worse than overpowered subs overpowering everything else. Especially the structure of the car - how many 'ghetto blasters' have you seen driving around with tons of bass hitting hard being drowned out all the 'buzzing' and 'rattling' of various body panels that aren't quite as factory fresh as they used to be? Sounds pretty assinine, don't it? Don't be that guy.
Use some 8 or 10 gauge power wires and fusible links between the battery and amps. Make sure you have solid grounding and no exposed wiring between the components. And above all else - turn it off just before you shut off the car - the rude awakening you receive the next time you start your car could actually shorten your life - most certainly will shorten the life of the amps and speakers. Plus, you don't want all that 'starting power' pushing the amps while you're trying to start the car - you want it there to actually start the car.
Also - don't go putting a bunch of stereo component stickers and stuff all over your car. You're only begging for it to be swiped... then you have nothing. (experience talking here)
One last thing - if you notice your headlights dimming 'to the beat' when the subs hit hard, you need to think about getting a high output alternator and/or some caps or dual-battery setup.
