Full Version: SB Audigy Pin - out?

I tried looking through Soundblaster.com for the Audigy pin out for the on board Firewire device so I can hook my front panel Case Firewire port to the SB Audigy's firewire pins.

Neither on the site or in the documentation about the SB Audigy does it show me what pins are what on the Audigy to connect the case's front panel Firewire port.

Thanks.

How many pins are there? Are the wires for the case port labeled? Which model of Audigy card is it (MP3, Gamer, Platinum)? From what I can tell in the online manual, the internal 1394 connector is only supposed to connect to the Audigy drive, not your case port.

First, it's not mine, it's my friends.

Second, no idea what model it is. I thought the only difference between the different packaging was the software that was included w/ the Card. Like "Games" for the gamer version. Mixing software for "MP3" version, etc..

The case pins are labeled. But the 1394 pins on the SB Audigy card is not.

That would bite big time if you were only allowed to hook it up to a external Audigy drive. icon_twisted.gif

According to Creative, the firewire ports, both front and rear are supposed to be standard IEEE 1394a, OHCI, SBP2 compatable. If this be the case, then the pinout should be:

1 POWER
2 GND
3 TPB-
4 TPB+
5 TPA-
6 TPA+

Here's what it says in the online manual. I'd copy and paste it, but it's a pdf file and that's not possible:

QUOTE
Internal SB1394 Connector
(Optional)

Connects to J5 on the Audigy Drive

If it's a standard IEEE 1394 port, then it should also hook up to the case port as Ace stated above.
