my little query
i have just purchased system mechanic pro6 and was wondering if any body has used or is using it and also should i install all thats on it e g firewall/antivirus
any replies will be appreciated

Yes OR you can install other apps...but you should only have one AV and or firewall

No I havent use system mechanic.

I have used SM5. Seemed like a good program at first. But be carefull what you let it do. It ended up deleteing some critical reg. files from my system.
I have since deleted it. Maybe number 6 is the charm.

Yea me it deleted the reg value that makes a shortcut work.

I'm always wary about programs that tweak your system "automagically" At best they usually do nothing, at worst, they destroy your windows installation so that you have to re-format and install everything from scratch.

As for firewall and anti-virus....there are better alternatives that are completely free. AVG for anti-virus, and Kerios Personal firewall come to mind.
