New male sexual model-metrosexual, or some one smoking a lot of grass?

The 'new look' models are kinda disturbing to me. Most of them are kinda homely. It scares me that my girls will get to dating age and that is the 'ideal'.

Suspect like all fads, this will also fade away. This new ugly pugly male look will also bite the dust. Plus, most look like they need to really hit the showers in earnest, and btw use soap!

I'm sorry. Did I miss something where it stated that it was cool to be unwashed and unclean??? I don't give a flying "you know what" what any fashion magazine, show, ad or whatever says. It will NEVER be cool to be unwashed/unclean/possessing body odour EVER in my book. That just ain't right.

No matter how fiscally challenged I've been, I've always made sure several things got done: 1). Evelyn was fed properly and had the proper kitty litter when she needed it. 2). Shave, shower, deodorant. (daily.) 3). Clothes were clean and pressed regularly and no ratty jeans/shoes. 4). Shoes/runners always shined or cleaned/washed as to be presentable. 5). Teeth brushed at least 2x a day and flossed once a day.

I think, to some extent, advertizers/marketers are trying to subtley strip men of their masculinity. Some of the flagrant sissies I see parading around DO NOT represent me or any of my friends or male relatives. More "truth" in advertizing would be nice however I'll wait for that along with the phone call asking me to be a starting center in the NBA. Bwahahahahaha.

I'm still waiting for the bald guy nice guy with a bit of a gut to come "in".

Fashion for many now termed metrosexual, evokes a more sleazy mind and body game projection, in a societal statement! Obviously t_b you have clearly noted that being 'fiscally challenged' did not stop you from being clean, and having responsibility for Evelyn in her care. That because, you have some thing the metrosexual is very much lacking called guts. The current metrosexual on the other hand, is described as rather a boarish butthole, where care or concern for others, animal/people is enmeshed and relegated in an arrogant indifference! It would be great if most that believed in this new fad philosophy, could back up this offensive behavior, but it really turns in the end, if they are squeezed ... they slide! No, do not care, or support this form of behavior that is used to put down others, and that is projected as being cool! Some decades in the past, new clothing became a status symbol when it was made to look old. Do suspect, this new cosmetic projection of clothing and body look by metrosexuals, is a rip-off of this thinking, and this is often reflected in new sales in clothing styles?

the way I see it, is a man should be man, but still have a respect for "his woman" I mean women have needs as much as we do.
I don't think a man should totally change his entire personality based on what a woman thinks of him, if she likes him for him then it's all good...
Same with women...
The fact that a man being a man is a hell of a lot harder then it was years ago...but not impossible...
we need to try harder to be a man. but not completely overtake a relationship. keep it within reason.
