Lookin to buy a new computer. My grandpa just sold his house for a very nice $127,000. It was apparaised at $67k so he got almost double that (surprising too, appraised at 67k and was on the market only a day at 127k and BAM it's sold already, he'll be out and in the old folks home in about 2 weeks). After paying off his debts and costs for the house he'll have approx 80k left so he'll finally be free of that.

Anyway, Basically I want a good all-round computer, play the majority of games maxed out (or near) at 1280x1024, hold lots of music and CD backups, etc. I would prefer a DVD burner, DX10 card for future use but I would also accept a GF7 card. at LEAST 1GB RAM but hey, the more the merrier. Also if its possible to drop that price with the same equipment (if you try to drop the price it doesnt exclusively have to be TigerDirect. And finally, I would prefer dual core as I want to use a PS2 emulator. My PS2 was stolen and I still want to play my games. I know the BIOS is illegal but thats my own choice.
Here's what I got planned out:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Biostar nForce 7 mobo
Ultra 1GB PC5400 DDR2667 RAM
Geforce 8600GT
Trendnet Wireless card
Lite-on SATA DVD burnerw/ lightscribe
Hitachi 250GB SATA HDD w/NCQ

Not sure how much that is but it should be around $750

IMO I would wait on building a computer til the DX 10 games come out....sooner or later...

Not into games-yet, so, when uNtOldPAIN noted that it may be wise to wait-decided to check out why. Interesting link below for me, perhaps it may be of some value to you also. The Inquirer talks a little about this too. thumbup1.gif

Suppose waiting it out until next year sometime when DX10 games become more common would be the wise thing to do. It would allow ATi time to produce some mid/low-range parts so nVidia's DX10 cards come down in price, who knows, maybe even GeForce 9 cards will be out by then at the rate nVidia's been churning 'em out.
