My optical scroll mose has packed it in , I will be replacing it this weekend. What i need to know , are any of you using the optical cordless mouse . I would like an opinion on them, how do they perform , are they worth the extra coin ?

that is the dumbest (sorry) urban legend ever pappy. i've used my cordless for years and its not slower than any corded mouse. some morons spread this rumor and people picked up on it, so they "fear" cordless. have you ever used a cordless? you would LOVE IT more than a corded one. my old cord kept on holding me back sometimes and got in the way. now i can stand anywhere in my room and use the mouse. my cordless logitech is just as responsive and fast as a corded one.
the logitech MX700 (i think thats it) is the one you want.
Thanks guys ; One of our local outlets handle logiteck So i will give them a look .
I'm not a gamer, at my age my reflexes won't get me off the first screen

so speeds not a problem .
Besides i need a new toy !

I have used the MS wireless Optical Explorer mouse and its great, I recommend it.
If I was buying a new one now it would be the MS Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

if ya got the money, get he MS bluetooth keyboard and mouse. That way, when you type sensitive data on your system, your neighbor wont see it like with HP wireless keyboards... lol yeah, hp keyboards control remote machines up to 100 yards away! HAHAHAHA
looks like BlueTooth really does have a thing going for it with secure wireless transmissions.

Well designed and manufactured cordless mice are not slow. Poorly designed and/or manufactered cordless mice DO introduce lag. Intel's wireless (and now discontinued) products are a prime example of the poorly designed and/or manufactured wireless products that introduced lag into the computing experience.
The Fellowes OptiGel Cordless Mouse that was part of my review (
http://cozmos.4peeps.com/modules.php?name=...howcontent&id=8 ) is another one that introduced enough lag to make it unsuitable for RTS or FPS gaming, but would probably be perfectly acceptable to someone that didn't do a lot of gaming.

I bought an Intel cordless mouse because CompUSA was selling them for $20 and Intel was giving a rebate of $30 on it.

I then gave it away to a friend at work (who probably uses it as a paperweight, since that's all it's good for).
Fellowes sent me both the corded and cordless versions of their mice for the review. The corded one is still in use on my main PC at home. I happen to like it better than my MS Optical Mouse (which is now in use at work). The cordless Fellowes mouse was given away through the CoZmos site to Andrew.

it is by FAR the best... and it has encryption with BlueTooth... very very nice. A private secure wireless mini network between you and your computer.

I want that bluetooth wireless mouse/keyboard and receiver combo, that is one nifty device. Coming with the receiver helps too so later on down the road you can use your other bluetooth devices:)

Thanks for all your help guys . I had a look at the MS system but it was a little out of my price range at this time, went with a logitech cordless optical , very nice , and it is a lot quicker and smoother than any mouse i've had so far . great advise thanks
