Full Version: My greatest experience.

And so it came to pass, that I, should experience what I'm sure is going to be one of the greatest things in my life.

Megadeth came to my country, me and some friends took the trip across the country, 2 and a half hours by train to see the show, and by whatever holy power you belive in, it was awesome!

They played for roughly 1 and a half hours, pure metal, not much chit chat, just metal!

Might seem, odd - or something - that i make this topic based on this, but it was such a major experience for me, and I felt compelled to share it.
I can use this to ask you, what you would think is one of the greatest things that you have experienced in your life, thus far?
Peap
my greatest experience is...becoming a member of 4peeps...I've learned so much since I came here...and I now have family all across the world. thumbup1.gif

Needless to say. Same thing as my brother Peap. thumbup1.gif

Excellent Burner. I also believe what you do is what you get so you will get a reward if you don't already have it for being such a nice person. thumbup1.gif

I have the reward already: many great friends whom are stellar individuals. That is what makes life worth living. Well okay, that and a good woman. icon_biggrin.gif

Glad to hear you already have it. Such nice and gentle people like you deserve that and even more in the earthly place. thumbup1.gif

Thank-you Darkness, however let me honestly point out, I am far from being a saint. Just trying to make up for the shitty karma I created in my earlier life. I was a bad boy. icon_wink.gif

Becoming a father and watching my children grow into such fine adults despite the fact that their father is of somewhat questionable character.
Sounds like it was an awsume show MS.

I'm calling Bullshit on you calling yourself a questionable charactor, Biggie. You have always impressed me as a totally stand-up guy with a great sense of humour and always being morally fully grounded in reality and not only knowing what is right but doing it; with little fanfare or calling attention to yourself. You're A+ in my books buddy. 'Nuff said.
Dragonfly
My greatest experience: meeting Ms Dragonfly, rewardingly working with many people and animals, friends from the past, and the present-i.e., a few nice people at 4peeps, and through-out the world via the airwaves. thumbup1.gif

Amen to that Biggy. The day my kids were born and every day after has been trying but the best days of my life. thumbup1.gif

I'm well past the point of siring any children however I can be "father/mother" to adopted pets that need a warm loving home. Already adopted two cats and hopefully more in the future. Dogs too some day when I have more room.

Pets become loved ones and parts of your family just as well as children in most cases. Adopting and caring for an animal is also very rewarding. thumbup1.gif

Yes, bull indeed they do become like children to a person. When I had to put Evelyn to sleep (my first "mine only, not family" cat) I cried like a baby. It damn near broke my heart. However it lead me to adopting my current "baby" Bea Shady, a Blue Lynx Siamese. She is a real charactor, smart as a whip and a hellraiser of signifigant proportions. My life would be immeasurably poorer without having a pet and that is the God's honest truth.

I'd have to say that having my son was my best experience. Got another one coming so I will be able to do it again!!

Old Dad

I'm going with Biggie & Bull on this one.The day my son was born is the best day I ever had.
Demon
The day HK seduced me.
The birth of each of my three children.
Graduating college.
Learning that real friends can be found on the Internet.
Paying off our debt to just the mortgage and vehicle payments.
Mister 4x4
Seeing the look on Kevin's face when we gave him the computer built by my hands with your help and encouragement.

Conversely, one of the saddest moments in my life was realizing I wouldn't see that face again while attending his funeral service.

LOL...excellent!

This took a while. Mine was in finally realizing that life is not the destination but the journey. Now I try to spend my remaining days enjoying the ride. Trying to spread a little niceness out there instead of spittle. You would be surprised how happy one can be when inner peace is attained.
the_burner
A convert. Excellent. Good work, Doc. I'm glad you are happier. yes.gif

I'm going to go out on a limb here, Doc.

Did you by chance recently buy a motorcycle? icon_smile.gif
the_burner
Jeez, bk. I know you like your bike. WE know you like your bike. What you're engaging in here is called projection. Ask the doc, he'll tell you. icon_biggrin.gif
burntkat
not at all. It's just that I often hear this mentioned by folks that ride.

I don't think I am made to ride a bike. I had one in Med school ( a weeny Honda CB-200 ) and fell off it about three times. I don't even drive my Z car fast anymore. No. No motorcycle . Just a change in how I think about people and things. Even the burning pain in my butt doesn't make me angry anymore but it does still hurt.

well very cool, doc. Kinda had that sorta thing going on in my life lately, too (the change in vantage point, not the pain).

Riding a bike doesn't have to be about speed. I much prefer my slow KLR650 to my Ninja 650R (thinking about trading the 650R in on a touring bike, or just to be rid of it). But especially being a medical professional and having no doubt seen the results of accidents on bikes, I can understand your hesitancy. I often ask myself why I ride, given that, as well- and of course I don't have your vantagepoint on the issue.
the_burner
Years ago when I owned a 650 Suzuki Savage, my nicest times where spent cruising around neighbourhoods at about 15mph without my helmet on. This bike was a turtle but it was nice to cruise on it.

1978 KZ650. Cam, heads, headers. Eatin stock KZ900s for lunch....ooooo I miss those days of young manhood.
Tell the truth....Im lucky to have survived my motorcycle days.
Peap
is it OK to have a couple great experiences?...

if so...my top number 2 is

learning that everything doesn't come, and most things take work to earn...
and if you're not willing to work...then you're not living life, and enjoying the things YOU'VE earned...

I had this, many moons ago...I know I'm still a "young pup" to most of the peeps...but I assure you...but I've worked hard to stay this young for a while.... tongue_smilie.gif ...just kidding...I do work for what I get...and I take into consideration everything I've done...making the choice to live life and enjoy it...has to be my greatest....
the_burner
You are a lot wiser a young man than I was at the same age, Peap. Probably a lot smarter too, damn you. LOL. icon_biggrin.gif icon_wink.gif
Peap
thank t_b....but what I gain in knowledge, mainly from really sitting down and talking to people many, many years older then me...(grandparents, generally people above the age of 65)....
What I gain from them, I lack in common sense...
but everyone has their faults...

but thank you,
sharing wisdom is the greatest gift to humanity...and I just want to give back, what I've learned...
and from what I can read...you've done your part as well...kudos...

To give and receive graciously are opposite sides of the same coin: humility. yes.gif
