Download Avast and do a Boot time scan...so nothing loads up...it's free you just have to register it for updates...and it's good AV software..(I use it)
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.htmlkill that bug
Norton is horrible IMO

If you find or wonder is a file is a virus submit it and this site will scan it with multi A/V scanners..
http://virusscan.jotti.org/Can you do a system restore? If you can do one...and install software as fast as you can. Also try in safemode to install software...
Safemode...When computer is starting up press "F8" repeatedly...a menu will appear...you should figure it out from there.

what is a boot time thingy?
bull

A boottime scan is a virus scan done during the bootup, before other programs get started.
After the install, Avast will ask you if it can do a scan...just say yes.

Umm, a proper boot scan, to my understanding, should do a minimum of two things: first; halt or slow the boot process so that the scanner can check to see what is loaded/loading into memory and whether they are malware/viruses/trojans/bots and second; terminate any negative code while alerting the person using the computer.
Beyond that, it would depend upon the sophistication of the program as to what further info/work it does.
<Not a knock on your 'splaining, bullski.

One method if you are unable to de-bug, is to do another Hard Drive! Folks do cringe at this extreme method, but hard drives are less expensive currently than in the past. Problem would be not to reload bugs on your new drive. Does refresh your computer-but much work loading stuff on. Something to consider anyway. Good luck with whatever method you use.

Can you just delete the file instead of moving it to chest?
It seems like the programs is active. Some times you can use the CTL-ATL-DEL and use the task manager to stop the programs and then delete it. If you can see were the file is at you can sometimes delete it yourself.
another free app is Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4

What is the name of the trojan? Sometimes you can google it and find a removal tool
Also try another boot time scan...sometimes it takes a few times to get rid of an infestation like you have on that box.
SpyBot has a boot time scan too
You can also go into "safemode" and delete the file. I would go into safe mode....Rename the file. Put a "1" in it some were. Reboot and see if the OS is fine...then go back into safe mode and delete it.
Make sure you update both programs. Updating is your friend.

also in safe mode you can right click the file and go to properties, there will be a security tab. Give yourself all permissions (or everyone all permissions, this is a trick I learned in Vista). I had to do this to program files in C:\ for my network sharing because I like having full access to all computers no matter which I'm on. That will fix the file permission, but it wont help if the file is in use. Safe mode should allow you to delete any file, used or not (in my experience anyway). There is a registry hack to delete files that you cant normally delete, my computer icons, recycle bin, in use, etc. Some files still run even in safe mode, especially if they tap into a file that is needed to run basic windows (like that stupid spyware BS that says "your computer may be at risk, click here to download <name> and clean your computer")
System restore is my best friend, I dont use antiviruses because I've never had the need to.
A really good antivirus, but you have to pay for it, is Nod32. My neighbour had a trojan that avast, AVG free, norton, and several other AV's couldnt handle, Nod32 wiped it right out. A buddy of mine recommended it to me, and I recommended to him.

That must be some new bug from Microsh*t, I never heard of it before.
If I were to be slapped with a screen that sez "Your Privacy Is In Danger"
I'd probably take it as a flattery. <giggle>
... I'd screen-cap it as an image and make an iron-on tshirt transfer with it,
and wear it to the mall or to a church.
Because it states the obvious: Your Privacy Is In Danger! <LOL>
