Picture of the Parthenon. Apparently, during WWII they used it to store ammunition and the ammunition inside detonated/exploded/blew up (not entirely sure of the actual story) and took most of it out. The Government has been rebuilding it since 2002.

Forgive me, but I don't want to sound like a complete idiot as I am not entirely sure of the names of these places (because of course, everything was in Greek) but I believe this was the Erechtheion. It is located on the same mountain as the Parthenon.

View of the city of Athens, Greece from on top of the Mountain the Parthenon is located. The mountain in the background also contains some other monument/ruin but I never made it to there.

View of what is left of the Temple Of Zeus from the top of the Mountain the Parthenon is on. The view from that Mountain was incredible. I can see why the Greeks choose to build a defensible position from there as they could keep an eye on the whole city and harbor!

This is the stadium in the Acropolis that Yanni played at (supposedly, I am not a big Yanni fan, you would have to verify that fact with Bull!). Apparently the acoustics are so good in this ancient Ampitheater that if you dropped a pin on the stage you could hear it from wherever you sat. It makes you appreciate what they were capable of building way back then. I went and saw Van Halen at the East Rutherford, NJ stadium and I could hardly hear them! LoL

A picture of the Acropolis/Parthenon Mountain from the street level. Yup, it was a looong walk up there, but worth it.

Another picture like the one above just from a different side.

Ahhhhh...Western Civilization Commercilization. Just have to love it. You can't escape it no matter where you go. It was kind of depressing to see this and Starbucks and Pizza Hut and Dominios there. The Greeks LOVE Pizza Hut.

A picture of yours truly standing in front of the entrance to ancient Greece. Notice the Parthenon/Acropolis Mountain in the background? You just can't escape that thing!

Another picture of yours truly standing in front of the Parthenon. It was like 100 degrees out, I was just about done after flying all night and not getting any sleep and walking everywhere all damn day long...hence the sweat marks! I was using my shirt to cover my bald head because I was getting torched!
Well, hope you enjoyed my little tourist pictures. Next stop in 2 weeks: Berlin!
