For those that may not know it, Diablo is making a comeback. The fact that the games in question are not coming from Blizzard and don't carry the Diablo name shouldn't scare you off. Both NCSoft and Flagship Studios are bringing the gameplay and dynamics of the Diablo franchise back to life. So, what's the catch? Simple - both games are essentially free! Flagship hired the programmer that brought us "Fate" to create Mythos which uses the HG:L engine and will be available completely gratis! For those of you that didn't play Fate - find it and try it. Then wait for Mythos!
NCSoft recently released Dungeonrunners, an essentially free game IF you don't want the premium loot and equipment. If you need the uber-sword-of-compensation-for-short-comings then it's a mere $5 per month.
I've played Fate and actually payed for the extended levels so I'm looking forward to a completely free evolution of the gameplay. I've downloaded and been playing Dungeonrunners (www.dungeonrunners.com) and I'm enjoying it so far. Take it for a test drive, it's free!
