Looks like my son's Socket A 2100 just died last night... no posting nada... tried switching out the CPU, PSU, Ram etc... only thing I didn't have to switch out is a Mobo... oh well... maybe get him a nice duallie this time around... naughty.gif

Both have VGA out... that's okay... the MSI board has 2 slots for Ram, the Biostar has 4 slots... & only a $8.00 Can diff. in price...

You know your gonna have to pretty much build a new computer. The old 2100's parts wont work with the new boards. You might get away with a PSU. The case you can use though icon_smile.gif

Yeah... I know painer... it's already got a 480W PSU in it... btw... I just bought the stuff about 20 mins. ago... went with the Biostar bd., a 64-3800+ dual core, 2 Gigs of Ram & a cooler... gonna attack it maybe this evening... hopefully, I won't have to touch Windows XP & it will be just a matter of installing the drivers for the new board...

Soooo... the new rig is up & running... had to do a repair on windows, reregister, download all the updates & everything's done!

I cheated... there's 2 TigerDirect retail locations within a 20 minute drive from home... 1 is in the North West corner & the other in the South East corner...another one about 1 hour away, just a bit north of Toronto... the onboard video is a GeForce 6100 using 256M of the main memory... I have 2 G. in the machine with space for another 2 G. for a max of 4 G.
