Full Version: Looking for Nforce AGP Socket 939
4peeps.com Forums > General Hardware/Software > Hardware
Coz
I checked ZipZoomFly and NewEgg and Pricewatcher and Techbargains and I can not find a motherboard that matches the following specs:

Nforce
Socket 939
AGP

Looking to build a 'new' computer from replacement parts I have laying around. If anyone has any suggestions where I can find such a thing, let me know?

Because I have like 3 AGP cards laying around here collecting dust and I might as well put them to use. They are less then a year old and in pretty decent shape GPU wise.

Good find at the Superwarehouse Bull. That is the same exact Mobo I am running now in my current set up. I am going to have to call them tomorrow to find out if they have any in stock. I can't believe I can't find AGP mobo anymore. I guess it really is a 'legacy chipset' now. After a year of PCI Express coming out, AGP is put out to pasture.

The other ones at ZipZoomFly are all KT chipsets, eg: VIA. I really don't want to do VIA but if that is all I can find...... icon_cry.gif
bull
I noticed that after I posted it. Via...Yuck!!! yucky.gif
Coz
I found something...but what the heck is a "ULI" chipset?

Damnit Ace. I was close to thinking I found the 'holy grail' of the Last AGP/939 Mobo!!!! Then you have to come in an pee all over my idea. LoL

I guess then, VIA would be the lesser of two evils then?
AceHigh
Yes, the VIA would be better. The ULI is comparable to the POS SIS chipset on the ECS motherboards.
Coz
Fine, I guess I will go w/ the VIA then. But I don't want to hear one peep out of Pappy about it! LOL
uNtOldPAIN
I have a VIA chipset. No problems here.

I have an NF3 and it is and always will be better than Via!!! icon_twisted.gif

There is one in stock and they want a freaking $100.00 for the damn thing. That's almost as much as I paid for it brand new a few years ago!!!!!

You're looking for a relic. Have you tried an antique shop? icon_wink.gif

Hey, I'm running an Asus board with a Via chipset. As a matter of fact the last 3 boards I had have had Via chipsets and not one problem on any of them. <Rude noise from mouth.> However, I do grant you fellas that the discussion that the nForce chipset may be better is a valid one. icon_smile.gif
