Full Version: Saving info off a dead Laptop

I have a coworker who's daughter's Compaq Presario M2000 just up and died. They took it to Breast Buy and they wanted some obnoxious amount of $$ to get the info off the HDD. I checked it over and it looks like it is either the wire or the DC power plug in the lappy. I am gonna try a different cord tonight at work, but the DC deal is like $150ish. thumbdown.gif

Is there anyway to plug the HD into a desktop to pull the info off? Maybe an adapter of such to plug it into the IDE?

Any other ideas are most certainly welcome. winkiss.gif
