If you watched the trailer. Then you watched the whole movie.
Jaysus, Joseph and Mary. Had they not heard of having an Ace (or several) in the hole? The trailers are decent at best. When the main focus of a trailer is some CGI asshat yelling out his own name; well then... you pretty much have to know that it is going to suck major arse. I also believe that Beowulf is one of the most read (huge book) stories/poems/rambling narratives in history.
Hitman caught my eye as being pretty interesting. What really piqued my interest was their use of the beautiful song/music, Ave Maria. One of my all time favorite songs, although I have to admit being sexist on this and saying that it has to be sung by a contralto:[The lowest womyn's singing voice; at the bottom of their range, they sound almost like men, often leading to people mistaking them for men on the radio, telephone, or wherever.
Toni Braxton is a famous popular music contralto. As are
Brandy,
Alicia Keyes,
Cher, and
Blu Cantrell, among others.Kiri Te Kanawa and other operatic singers have done versions that been transcendental.] I have at least 5 versions of it, KTK is the first, then Kathleen Battle, Jessye Norman, Mario Lanza and one just listed as "Mozart." One of the most beautiful songs ever. Other great songs, in my opinion: Moonlight Sonata in C minor, La Wally by Cantalani, Amazing Grace, and La Dona et Mobile.....all phenomenal songs.
Description from Wikipedia: "
Beowulf is an
Old English heroic epic poem of anonymous authorship. Its creation dates to between the 8th
[1] and the 11th century, the only surviving manuscript dating to circa 1010.
[2] At 3183 lines, it is notable for its length. It has risen to
national epic status in
England.
[3] In the poem,
Beowulf, a hero of the
Geats, battles three
antagonists:
Grendel, who is attacking the Danish
mead hall called
Heorot and its inhabitants;
Grendel's mother; and, later in life after returning to
Geatland (modern southern
Sweden) and becoming a king, an unnamed
dragon. He is mortally wounded in the final battle, and after his death he is buried in a
barrow in Geatland by his retainers."
