I built a puter for my folks this weekend. One of the componets I ended up usin was a 8600GT (combo deal with the mainboard). When I was done with build I loaded good ol Quake Arena just for the heck of it. I was stuned by the eye candy produced. So I loaded UT3 demo. Excellent. And very playable frame rates considering the hp this game requires.
Kind of pisses me off that the games look better on this card than they do on my 7950GT SLI rig.
Very impressed with the 8000 series cards.

Anyone got one of the newer ATI cards....if so hows it look?

No, sorry Biggie. Just an old 9250 Pro with 128MB DDR ram and dual head. A real clunker. AGP even. icon_biggrin.gif

I still have a 9800Pro and it has never let me down. thumbup1.gif

Me and my son both have the 8600GT. It is by far the best bang for the buck.

I got the x1950xtx from Ati and has nice performance. Though about getting a HD 3800 but finally decided to go into Nvidia again. Recently bought a 7600GT AGP and was very happy with the performance but jumped to PCI-E on my 2nd Pc and got the 7950GT SLI. Pretty nice cards, I chose the 7950gt because I read a lot of reviews and most of them said the 7950GT beat the 8600GT. Now am saving to get a 8800GTX Ultra. That seems to have all the eye candy plus DX10. thumbup1.gif
