help.gif My computer just shut off in the middle of doing work on it yesterday. I tried turning it back on and nothing. Ran out to the store and picked up a new power supply, the same as the one that was hooked into my system.
Antec Basiq 350 Watt Power Supply
• 350 watts
• Dual 12V outputs
• ATX12V v2.0 compliant• SATA connectors
Now, while installing the new box I tried to attach each wire as I removed the old, but something is not right. When I boot up the system it turns on, the lights on the motherboard, hard drive etc, light up but I get no picture on my monitor. Any help would be truly appreciated before I head out to a computer repair shop.

Thanks!!

Have you tried to reseat the video card? Do you have another video card to test with? Also try reseating the ram also and, or try each stick of ram by itself. Your monitor cable is another source to check and see if it's plugged all the way in...good luck.

I believe my video card is a part of the motherboard and no, I don't have another to test with. But I did think the ram may have something to do with it. I will check that when I get home. I did reseat both sticks and there was nothing but I will try one at a time and see what happens. If my monitor isn't connected I get a floating box and when I connected it the box went away.

Thanks

Thanks! I believe my video card is part of my mother board. If by chance the problem is the video card and it is a part of the mother board, can I install a new one and override the current one?

So first I'll check out my ram and see if that has anything to do with it. If not, I'll p/u a video card and if I run into a problem installing it, I'll be back for help winkiss.gif

I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks,
Patty
