My friend wants to know if his pc's being accessed via remote access without his authorization. There have been some minor changes and some missing documents that they don't recall deleting. They have Nod32, AVG antispyware and Ad-aware 2007 pro installed besides Spybot Search & Destroy, Superantispyware and Spywareblaster and have scanned all their HDD's without finding something like backdoor trojans, only some adware and tracking cookies. How to tell if it is happening?

I run Anti-Spy, CWShredder, Ad-Aware SE Personal Spyware Vanisher and Clean Disc Security once a week. Anti-Spy runs all the time. As does N.A.V. corporate edition. I have hit some web pages and they tried to do nasty shiii, I mean stuff to my computer. Oh yeah, and Zone Alarm Pro. For the last year I have had no major problems whatsoever. Good call, bullski. I also run msconfig and have hit Axel216's and Black Viper's page to safely disable, set to manual non-neccessary services. Everything works just great. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

I run only Avast Pro and Windows Defender. I never get nasty stuff on my comp.

Use Ad-aware 2007 pro, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Norton. Best way for me, is just shut down computers when not in use!

That is cause the nasty stuff is using the computer :p

And kill the internet connection. It can't get on your comp if you are not connected to the net AND scan everything you stick in a tray or slot. Scan it all, big or small! Blank media also!
