I used to run a "LAN Sunday" at the local Firehall here, dudes would arive around 8:30 and we'd kick all day till 7:00...

We had 20 people at the most, and I'd run this once a month... Played whatever they wanted to play, always someone with a spare switch/cables/cards... always free, bring a lunch etc..

I think you'd be surprised at how much LANing goes on, Pain. There are quite a few sites devoted to getting the word out about LAN parties.

In Rockland County there is a Palisades Center Mall. Something like 6 floors high and almost 1.5 miles long.

The have a X-Zone store in there, quite large and it's nothing but a Lan-Fest. People just come in, plop in front of a computer and play CS all damn day. I was just there today and saw it. The sound in there was deafining.

Looked cool. But I would pass on the CS game. Of course Goku wouldn't want to play, I dont think they would allow him to bring a 3.5 Floppy in to upload his cheats. :wink:

yea we finally have a hobby shop where a guy has about 8 computers and a server with dsl setup. it costs $6 though, even when you BRING you computer... and they played Medal of Honor the entire time... me and a friend had to play battlefield 1942 by ourselves online! what a lan! lol

seriously, medal of honor is all they can run. they were built by some crappy computer store in town
