Nothing like getting a call on saturday night from the San Angelo Police Department:

Son's car:

The car that hit him:

He's ok, so that's a good thing.

Damm thats not good.

It sure look like it took a shot, thank goodness everyone is OK, my 19 year old came home last week with a small dent in the right rear fender. And I thought that was bad...

I'm totally surprised anyone survives being a good parent. I know I couldn't do it. I'd be a mental wreck in a nut house. icon_cry.gif Thank God your son is okay, Ron. What a blessing. Your's also, MBF.
bull
Glad he's ok. Looks like a nasty crash.

What pisses me off most is the other drivers were drinking, and the police report says that and excessive speed (no skid marks at all), but there was no citations issued.
pappy177
strained neck with a nasty lawsuit?

The problem with whiplash is it can wait for a few years to manifest itself. He only got a bump/scrape on the head from hitting the steering wheel, and had him checked out at the emergency room, but may develope problems later.

Glad to hear he's ok Ace.
Snuffy
Glad to hear hes ok man! Do we need to get a posy together?

Yea...that has happened to me before. As a kid the cops dont give you a break...

Once I got in an accident...I was telling the officer over and over that I smelled alcohol on the woman and her passengers...they did nothing. Once I got mad...they were gonna take me to the clink.
danthezooman
ouch it chould have been worse tho is he ok?and it looks like a nice car is he going to have it fixed or is he going to scrap it?
the guy next door just got into a crash 2 days ago when i tried to adviod a crash the police said he if he didnt turn he would have T-boned the door and killed the drive he hit a telephone pole insted its going to cost him about 10k to fix his truck.
Mister 4x4
The Grand Am's toast.

The car's a unibody design, meaning that the wrinkles on the roof between the 'B' and 'C' pillars are indications the structural integrity has been compromised - there's no way to repair that.

Lemme guess: Home Motors was the first on the scene and had the whole thing cleaned up within 15 minutes of arriving - and didn't bother to ask anybody for permission to tow. (Same thing happened when I crashed my wife's Grand Am in '95)
Peap
holy shit...u weren't kidding when you said it was totaled...damn...
jsut as long as he's ok...
