Is there another program out there on the World Wide Web besides Microsoft's Activesync that one can use?
Activesync sits in the taskbar running constantly and I can't stand it!!!!! So anytime I want to 'sync' my PDA phone I have to re-install the program (minor annoyance compared to the program sitting in my task!)
Just curious.

Try using the MSCONFIG tu stop it from running at startup.

I've done that, but as soon as I start up WMP, it starts up again. And, even though the systray icon doesn't start, the "Services" start upon Windows Boot. I checked the services menu and there is nothing there related to Activesync.

Seems like the software's linked to the WMP app. You should take a look at the registry, you could find something there.

Thanks for looking out Bull... but none of those are what I need. They won't sick Contacts/Calendar with Outlook. No big deal, I will just install Activesync on the laptop since I use that mostly when I travel and suck up the system rescources getting sucked down. LoL

Just thought I would try. Nothing I read looked like there were any real option to completely replace it.

Got another question... what about Activesyncing a Windows Mobile 6 Cell Phone with a Gmail Calendar? Can that be done?
