So, I'm getting this lovely error "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" - and the end result is that my internet eventually goes dead and i have to reboot.

I tried downloading a fix from Microsoft, but it didn't work with my language version.

So my question is, do anyone know how i can otherwise fix it?

My os is WinXP SP2 - almost brand new installation on a brand new pc.

Seems like a virus is causing the internet to go down. Try doing a full scan.

Take a look at the event log, should have more info on what is actually causing the failure

After looking around, some people have been able to update HP printer and scanner drivers to get rid of the errors. And others have had success by turning off automatic updates. Microsofts patch has been the most help. And the virus solution has worked too. good luck

I ran my AVG virus scanner and it found nothing.

Try a full scan with Nod32 and with an online scan. It'll help you find other things AVG can't detect.

svchost'exe was causing trouble a while ago and it was using almost 100% resources. Some virus had made a copy of svchost.exe but found it and deleted manually. Good link MBF, it'll surely help.
