I am not that religious but wanted to share with you all what's happening in Antigua Guatemala this season. It's called "Semana Santa" (Holy Week) and there's to be expected around 3,000,000 people coming from many countries to come here to see these solemn events. Today there are some of the most important processions which usually have between 4,500 to 5,000 people going with it. Each procession is carried by 80 - 100 each block from tallest to shortest brothers, tallest guys get #1 which is the honor turn of getting it out of the church (1.60cm to 1.70cm shoulder, that's me, lol) Here are a couple of videos which will give you a slight idea of how it is like over here. thumbup1.gif

If you ever have the chance of coming over here, don't hesitate mano, you won't regret it, there are a lot of things you won't ever forget. 10,000.000 annual visitors can't be wrong. thumbup1.gif

Some great shots-You Tube has some religious ceremonial clips that are great in terms of color and presentation. Noticed that one person in the last clip presented, indicated the painting style was called Costumbrista ... this looks to me a little like some of the work that Paul Gauguin was doing at the turn of the 19th, and into the 20th century. Some great colors-would like to paint a bit in the area ... canvas, not houses! Thanks for the shots. icon_smile.gif

I love both my homes America and Guatemala. I've lived in both countries for so long therefore I have both cultures. Thank you all for reading this. thumbup1.gif

I think I am more suited to a "down south" lifestyle. More dignity, grace and introspection to my mind. yes.gif

Make sure you give me enough lead time so that I can plan a proper welcome, suitable accomodations and enough entertainment to be memorable and fun. Oh, and bring that Peap fella along, if you wish. He seems like a pretty good sort. One of my goals/dreams is to do a tour and visit all my online friends and/or have/set up a gig and invite all my buds icon_wink.gif cocky.gif

Thank you for your hospitality B, will take Peap unless he doesn't behave well. Having a gig with all friends doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. Likewise, you are welcome if you ever decide to visit here. thumbup1.gif
