Full Version: Add items to "menu bar" on Vista

First off... there are like 3 or 4 posts in the Vista section here.... what does that say about Vista?

Good Job Microsoft!!! LoL

Anyway, in XP (you know the GOOD os) you can add stuff to the 'title bar' or whatever it is called. You know, you can add "Delete/Copy/Paste/Move To/Copy To" icons on that bar up top when you are browsing your folders....

Well how in the HECK can you add that stuff to Vista? I am tired of right clicking a file everytime I want to delete it or opening up multiple windows just to move one file from one folder to the other....

Are you talking in Windows basic "explorer shell" or Outlook Express or Internet Explorer? More info please. I'm pretty sure you mean Win Explorer but......

When Bill Gates was asked what is the worse OS they produced, he hesitated and said "Wait till the next OS comes out". Does that tell you something?
Coz
I am speaking of the Windows Shell.....

Hey Coz...
On the right side of your browser (I will assume IE7), 1st icon should be 'Home', 2nd 'RSS Feed', 3rd 'Printer', 4th 'Page', 5th 'Tools' & the last one on mine has a question mark. Under tools, I have selected the 'Menu Bar', under 'Toolbars', I have selected 'Links' & 'Status Bar'. I believe the one that you are interested in right now is the 'Menu' bar. This gives you the usual 'File', 'Edit', Favorites', Tools' & 'Help' that you find on IE6. If this is not what you are looking for... let me know. I have just got my Vista IE7 to work again... it was giving me messages & closing as soon as I opened... Just cleared all history & cookies including passwords etc.

Cswchan; thanks for the reply, but I am looking for how to place "Copy/Paste/Move To/Copy To" on the actual Windows Vista Explorer bars.

This way I can move a file to another folder without having to open up the folder I want to move the file in on the desktop and then drag it over to that folder...
Coz
I guess this topic is a "no go" huh?

I tried looking around the 'net but I really can't find anything.. nor do I even really know if the 'menu bar' is even the correct thing to be typing out in Google Search....
Coz
No...but thanks Pappy. Damnit. LoL

Why is this so freaking difficult!

The area circled (crap-ily) in red is the area I am talking about. The same area in XP you can add the "copy to / move to / shortcuts" can you add anything to that area in Vista?

Vista is the devil, why did you even try it? You know it's shit and yet you try icon_smile.gif

from micronut

1. Right-click an empty area on the taskbar, and then point to Toolbars. A list of toolbars appears.

2. The toolbar names with check marks beside them are already on the taskbar. Click any item in the list to add or remove it.

trying mate.

I have no choice... there are no XP drivers for this laptop. Trust me, if I could use XP, I would have.

I'm starting to wonder if you purposefully do stuff to upset yourself, Coz. icon_wink.gif icon_biggrin.gif
