When I first saw this, my brain being lysdexic (sic) and all, I thought it said "reefer" and thought, wow, the Jamaicans finally swung it. Then I realized that couldn't be possible. So, we have the Year of The Reef. Some interesting stuff here.

I think I'll add scuba diving a coral reef to my list of "Things I want to do before I die".

Quite a list dealing with reef problems. It would seem that waste dumping is a major problem-at least that was the major concern about three decades ago over there-waste products untreated being actually flushed into the areas where the reef is located at. You may need better protection MBF going swimming in some areas over there-if this stuff eats coral, you don't have much of a chance-BTW, this was a little secret in terms of water purity, i.e., so the news of dirty water would not discourage the tourists from coming over and spending a few dollars.
